Up for sale is an excellent condition Volvo Penta Rebuilt / Resealed 290 290A Upper Gear unit with  New  high quality forged Universal joints  26 Spline Universal   We have gone thru the entire Unit , Every  bearing  and race was inspected  ,gear set was inspected for wear , gear set and bearings are pristine , All New Volvo Penta seals, Shift shoe Seal, Top cap seal , universal  Main Seal ,  no aftermarket parts ! The unit shifts flawlessly. We replaced the top cap. . This was off a low  hour Fresh water Vessel It is Tagged 1.61 for V8 but is interchangeable with all gear ratios Dp 1.95 , 2.30, 1.78 and Sp 1.61. 2.15 1.89. Standard bearing unit This will fit and  would  be a nice Upgrade for your 270 275 280 285 or a direct replacement 290 290A Sp-A 290Dp Dp-A Dp-B ,   Bolt  it on get back on the water!
